Which room category is right for me?

Our standard single and double rooms are relatively small, please remember that our house is very centrally located and provides 3 star quality. We want to offer good value for money.

Cleanliness is extremely important for us, our rooms are furnished comfortably and functional (for example we do not have those typical narrow German single beds in our single rooms) for longer stays, or if you need more space we recommend to book a double room for single use or choose one of the superior categories right away.

Why is our hotel named “Domstern“?

The “Domstern“ (cathedral star) – no other church has got a star on its spire!

On spires of Catholic churches you will usually find a cross or a weathercock, Cologne Cathedral is the only exception.

It carries the “Domstern“ or “Star of Bethlehem“ which shall guide the pilgrims to the shrine of the holy kings.

The mortal remains of the three Magi were brought from Constantinople to Milan in the 4th century and 1164 Rainald von Dassel transferred them to Cologne as spoils of war.

Thereby the importance of the city as a major pilgrimage site besides Santiago de Compostela and Rome increased, which also caused an economic upswing for Cologne.

The “Domstern“ is extraordinary and unique and so we chose the name for our hotel because we want to make your stay with us in Cologne extraordinary and unique as well!
